Integrating green entrepreneurship and circular economy into VET education
In a world increasingly shaped by climate change and resource scarcity, the need to equip young people with both entrepreneurial skills and environmental awareness is critical. The ENTRELED project, funded by Erasmus+, addresses this need by integrating the principles of the circular economy into Vocational Education and Training (VET).
Rethinking Business Through Sustainability
ENTRELED promotes a shift in how we define entrepreneurship in VET. Instead of focusing only on economic success, the project invites learners to see entrepreneurship as a means to create positive environmental and social impact. The goal is to encourage the development of innovative business ideas that are not only viable but also responsible and sustainable.
Tools That Bring Learning to Life
To make this vision practical, the project has developed a range of digital tools tailored to the needs of both VET learners and VET educators. These include:
- A set of 5 digital educational games that simulate real-world business challenges with a circular economy focus.
- An e-learning program for VET teachers, made up of 8 self-paced modules on green business, circular strategies, and inclusive education.
The tools are designed to be accessible, engaging, and particularly supportive for learners with learning difficulties, ensuring that no one is left behind in the transition to green entrepreneurship.
Piloting in Progress
ENTRELED is currently in its final and most crucial phase — the piloting of its digital tools in real learning environments, which will run until 31 May 2025. Across all partner countries, VET learners are testing the educational games, while teachers explore the e-learning course and apply the resources in their classrooms. Feedback collected during this period will be used to fine-tune the tools before their final release.

This is a unique opportunity for schools and educators to take part in shaping a new model of sustainability-driven vocational education.
