Empowering VET Educators to Teach Circular Economy Entrepreneurship to Students with Learning Difficulties

The ENTRELED project is making significant strides in developing an innovative Online Training Program (OTP) to equip VET teachers with the skills and knowledge needed to effectively teach circular economy entrepreneurship to students with learning difficulties.

A Collaborative and Research-Driven Approach:

Our work began with a thorough needs assessment, examining the specific challenges and requirements of the VET sector in each partner country, particularly focusing on the needs of students with learning difficulties. This research, conducted during our transnational meeting in Florence, Italy, informed the development of the OTP’s macrostructure and content. We also analyzed existing VET curricula to ensure the OTP complements and enhances current educational practices.

Building a Comprehensive Training Program:

The OTP, hosted on the user-friendly Learn.micoo platform, comprises eight comprehensive modules covering a wide range of topics:

  • Circular Economy Fundamentals: Understanding the definition, principles, and importance of the circular economy in modern business.
  • Sustainable Business Practices: Exploring green entrepreneurship, social and environmental responsibility, and opportunities in sustainable markets.
  • Green Skills for the Future: Equipping learners with key skills in eco-design, resource management, renewable energy, and digital technologies for sustainability.
  • Circular Business Models: Deep diving into circular business model canvas, cradle-to-cradle design, closed-loop supply chains, and industrial symbiosis.
  • Inclusive Pedagogy for Students with Learning Difficulties: Providing VET educators with effective teaching strategies, assessment methods, and feedback techniques tailored to diverse learning needs.

Engaging and Accessible Learning Experience:

Each module features engaging introductory videos, text-based study materials, suggested resources for further reading, interactive quizzes, and comprehensive references. We are committed to ensuring accessibility and are adhering to WCAG 2.0 guidelines throughout the platform’s development.

Quality Assurance at Every Step:

To maintain high standards, we’ve implemented a robust quality assurance process, including regular partner meetings, expert reviews, peer feedback, and user testing. We are also actively involving potential end-users in the design process to ensure the OTP is relevant, user-friendly, and impactful.

Progress and Next Steps:

While the OTP development is nearing completion, with content creation and platform development well underway, translation into five languages (English, Greek, Lithuanian, Spanish, and Italian) is in progress. We are also preparing for the piloting phase, which will provide valuable feedback for further refinement.

The ENTRELED project is committed to empowering VET educators and fostering a more inclusive and sustainable future for learners with learning difficulties in the circular economy. Stay tuned for more updates as we move closer to launching the OTP and making a real difference in the lives of learners and educators alike.
